being politically active in a crazy season.

I hate politics. Hate it. Ask almost anyone who knows me, I would rather stick a fork in my eye than spend more than the 15 seconds it takes me tell you I don't like politics discussing it. I sincerely feel like it is one of the most divisive issues in life. However, like a lot of people turned off by politicians and their "representatives" I feel like this election is important. We have a lot of issues facing us as a country and not a lot of answers(or ideas, for that matter) coming our way. The most important is the economy. Our economy is in the tank(as I predicted and many others did with the 700 billion dollar "bailout" POS* that was passed by our wonderful congress and signed by our fantastic president...). And nearly half of the country - 47% to be exact - feel that Congress has more power over the economy than the President or the Fed Chairman. Personally, I feel that congress has more power over most everything than the President, but that's just my opinion.

Speaking of congress, they have a 18% approval rating, while 51% of those polled thinks they are doing a "poor" job. Well, to that I say one thing - DUH! They've done nothing significant except for cause trouble with things they shouldn't be involved in. Steriods in Major League Baseball? Seriously, that was such a pressing issue that they spent months in hearings over it. Really?

But, back to the economy. Go to www.barackobama.com and check out the Obama-Biden Tax Calculator on the front page. Fill out the information asked(which is generic i.e. what's your annual salary, do you have college expenses,etc) and calculate. I, at the bottom of the barrel, receive a whopping $500 extra - why? Because I'm single. Add a child to the mix(now I'm a single parent!) and I still receive $500. Please explain. In fact, I have to have at least 3 children to change my "tax refund" beyond $500! At that point it moves to $1120. That's really helping the kids Barack. And, because I am soo cool, I also spent some time on the website today checking it out. My favorite feature? "Login to myBO". Really. It's on the front page. Look at it. No one working for him apparently caught it. BO... Body Odor. I should work for those retards. I would've at least noticed that. Good Lord on High! Anyway, I will let you check the rest of it out - it's important.

On to www.JohnMcCain.com. Once reaching the home page click on "The McCain Plan for Tax Relief" and check it out. You won't get a nifty little widget(which is what is on BO's website..) to calculate your "personal" tax relief, but you will actually get to listen to Doug Holtz-Eakin(McCain's senior policy advisor) answer pre-written questions that are commonly asked by nosy people like me. :-) And you can also compare both McCain's and BO's tax plans. So go listen to it, check it out, and be an informed voter.

In all openness, I am voting for McCain. Why? Because Obama can't seem to reach beyond his words and show action. Because for more than half of his US Senate term he has been campaigning for a higher office - the Presidency - rather than working on fixing the problems we face with his fellow elected officials. Because we need someone who is willing to fight the right fight and not say one thing and do another - or better yet, do something and change it because he came under too much fire for deciding the way he did. We need a man in the office of the Presidency, not a boy. And because Barack Obama's running mate - Joe Biden - has no faith in his own running mate. Just look at his words, listen to them. So, check everything out - their websites, other websites, and read, listen, and soak in everything you can possibly imagine in the next 8 days and go out and vote - call your local election board to find out where your voter precinct is and do it - VOTE!

*POS = Piece Of Shit. That's as nice as I get, too.
